Let our residents tell you why they chose Shanghai Centre…

Having moved here over a year ago after 30 months in The Kerry Residences (because of their surrounding construction realities) we were concerned about losing the personal touch that we so enjoyed there. However we have found everyone here, from the security guards directing traffic in the forecourt to general management, to have an incredibly friendly and professional approach. Moreover the ease with which we can manage so many of our everyday living needs with such proximity to our front door only builds that neighbourhood experience. The Shanghai Centre focus on detail, likely not a typical Chinese experience, is a real pleasure and must be the one of the reasons why the building runs so smoothly. Indeed this has become a home away from home in a hectic Asian metropolis. In fact after 25 years of expat life in Africa, Europe and North America can truly recommend it as a world class operation…

My wife and I have lived at the Shanghai Centre since arriving in Shanghai in September 2007. Due to the pressures of relocation and setting up a new business in China, my wife and I chose this venue as our home base for its' proximity to my work - my office is located at Plaza 66 - and for the convenience of services provided, especially the diverse medical team and dental facilities, the on-site supermarket, the post office, laundry, gym, pool and quality restaurants. Everything is at our doorstep, to make our life comfortable and easy, especially when either one of us leaves the other to travel overseas.

The most important aspect of keeping us at the Shanghai Centre has been the professional attitude and proven good service standards applied by all staff. All of our issues have been handled in a respectful, speedy, efficient and friendly manner with staff speaking, or attempting to speak, English. In addition, the Shanghai Centre has provided many functions for us to celebrate western and eastern traditions. These events have all been catered for and have helped us to network with other residents and to learn more about other countries and cultures.

In summary, the Shanghai Centre has proven to be the 'lifestyle' that my wife and I need in this hectic Shanghai working environment. We have no regrets about our decision to live here.

Apart from being very conveniently located to my husband’s office, there are many reasons for our family to choose to live at Shanghai Centre Service Apartments, however the main one is that it is a perfect place for families with young children. When my children are happy, so am I. My daughters ask every day to go down to the 8th floor to play, either in Kids Club, an indoor playroom filled with more fun and toys you can imagine, or at the outside play area to swing, slide or jump on the trampoline or the enormous jumping castle. In addition, there is an indoor/outdoor pool, which is a great place to chill as a family, making it feel like a little weekend get-away only just an elevator ride from our door. Another reason we enjoy it so much here is that it is a great sense of community; Shanghai Centre offers many opportunities for residents to meet and get to know each other, either through coffee mornings or annual festivities catered by the Portman Ritz Carlton, which are so much fun for all ages. We have had many priceless moments here with our new friends and neighbors, getting the BBQ going or playing cricket on the lawn. It’s really nice to have neighbors that call me by my first name when I meet them in the elevator or hallway. We also love the fact that we have child-friendly restaurants just downstairs as well as a supermarket, bookstore, hair salon and coffee shops, making it easier to juggle all the chores of the day. The additional bonus, as we see it, is that this place comes with the perfect package of excellent management, services and responsiveness to our requests, and equally important, the sense of security, it’s not by chance that even President Obama chose to stay at the Shanghai Centre. There is just no other place like this in Shanghai!

'How You Live Is Where You Live' and that is truly why we chose the Shanghai Centre three years ago. This was the first time we had lived outside the United States and the conveniences and the amenities the Shanghai Centre offered were exceptional in Shanghai. We had looked at many other places during the two weeks we were house hunting, but the Shanghai Centre was always our first choice. Now three years later we are signing our lease for one more year! The English speaking staff is exemplary and certainly was a huge factor when we moved here not speaking any of the native language. The Events Department is superb with their monthly coffees and lectures and also cooking classes and wine tasting parties. A great opportunity to meet people that we certainly enjoy. Another priority for us in our apartment search was workout facilities. The health club here is honestly the best in the city, and we have our friends from other residences tell us that all the time. Having a medical and dental center on the premises is an immense comfort knowing that if there is a medical issue it can be addressed immediately. Conveniences galore! From the lovely serviced apartments (appliances, dishes, sheets, towels all included) to the super market, bank, pharmacy, dry cleaner, restaurants, retail shops, and even a theater just to name a few. Another feature that we both enjoy is the eighth floor terrace where we can grill outdoors in the summer. For these reasons and more it is truly Life At Your Doorstep for this Michigan couple..

A testimonial straight from the heart…

Cate (8 years old) has been living at Shanghai Centre for the past six years and really loves her home….

“Everybody thinks shanghai centre is just an ordinary apartment Building. But to me it is just a caring and loving comfoterble home. In fact I think all residents are happy and lucky to live here. And people who work are kind. And I love going to the barbecues with my family and friends and all these shops are better then the orginal ones. And I think this month is a great success. And I predict the people who work here can make this month special.
